少林寺自跋陀创寺，达摩立宗以来，历经千年，高僧辈出，法脉绵延。少林功夫作为少林文化的代表，以其博大精深的内涵，不分民族、不分国界、不分语言，包容和接纳来自世界各地的少林文化爱好者。通过本次考功总决赛，我们将见证不同国家、不同肤色、不同文化背景的参赛者齐聚一堂，共同传承少林精神，展现少林文化的包容性与普世价值。

此次考功总决赛是在去年洲际考功大赛的基础上，晋选出来自世界101个国家、168个城市的百名“六大洲少林功夫之星”及相关获奖选手。此次大赛不仅是对少林功夫技艺的考证，更是对少林文化的深度认知。

慈悲不仅仅是佛教的本怀，同样也是修习少林功夫的前提。慈悲不仅意味着对他人的关爱，更是对所有众生的尊重与包容。

健康是少林文化的基调。少林功夫不仅能强身健体，更能调和身心，使人身心健康，充满活力。少林文化就是一种健康的生活方式，让我们能够更好地应对生活中的各种挑战，保持身体的健康和心灵的宁静。

和平是我们共同的追求。通过少林文化的国际交流，可以增进不同文化之间的理解与友谊，促进世界的和平与和谐。

本次大赛将围绕着“慈悲、健康、和平”的理念，通过公平、公开、公正的原则，评选颁发紧那罗王奖和世界少林功夫之星奖，这是对优秀传承者的肯定与激励。同时，我们还将举办世界非遗创新大会，来自全球各国少林文化中心的住持法师和师父，所有开设少林功夫课程的院、馆、协会、中心负责人和师父将齐聚一堂，共同探讨少林文化的传承与创新。

Today, we gather at the millennia-old Shaolin Temple to witness the 2024 Shaolin Kungfu Intangible Cultural Heritage Transmission Grand Finals. It is an excellent opportunity, and we are all very excited. On behalf of everyone at Shaolin Temple, I extend a warm welcome and sincere gratitude to all of you for being here.

Since its founding by Batuo and the establishment of Chan Buddhism by Bodhidharma, Shaolin Temple has flourished for over a thousand years, producing many eminent monks and continuing its profound lineage. Shaolin Kungfu, as a representative of Shaolin culture, with its profound and extensive heritage, transcends race, nationality, borders, and language, embracing Shaolin culture enthusiasts from all over the world. Through this grand finals, we will witness contestants of different countries, and cultural backgrounds coming together to inherit the Shaolin spirit and demonstrate the inclusiveness and universal values of Shaolin culture.

This grand finals builds upon last year's intercontinental competitions, selecting 100 “Shaolin Kungfu Stars of Six Continents” and other award-winning participants from 101 countries and 168 cities worldwide. This competition not only tests the skills of Shaolin Kungfu but also deepens our understanding and recognition of Shaolin culture.

Compassion is not only the core of Buddhism but also a prerequisite for practicing Shaolin Kungfu. Compassion means caring for others and respecting and embracing all living beings.

Health is the foundation of Shaolin culture. Shaolin Kungfu not only strengthens the body but also harmonizes the mind and body, promoting overall health and vitality. Shaolin culture represents a healthy lifestyle, helping us better face life's challenges while maintaining physical health and mental tranquility.

Peace is our shared pursuit. Through international exchanges of Shaolin culture, we can enhance understanding and friendship among different cultures, promoting world peace and harmony.

This competition will adhere to the principles of fairness, openness, and justice, awarding the Jinnaluowang Prize and the World Shaolin Kungfu Star Prize to outstanding inheritors as recognition and encouragement. Additionally, we will host the World Intangible Cultural Heritage Innovation Conference, where abbots and masters from Shaolin cultural centers around the world, and heads and masters of institutions, academies, associations, and centers offering Shaolin Kungfu courses will gather to discuss the transmission and innovation of Shaolin culture.

Lastly, I extend my gratitude to the leaders, businesses, organizations, and individuals who have long supported the development of Shaolin culture. Your support has enabled the widespread dissemination of Shaolin culture globally, benefiting all beings. May we use this virtuous connection to benefit all sentient beings. I also thank all the staff who have worked tirelessly for this event.
